I attended the Wreath's Across America ceremony held in Eldon, Iowa on 12/12/09. It was very cold but was a very nice ceremony just the same. The wreaths had been placed earlier in the morning by some local veterans. One of the local sponsors opened the ceremony by giving a speech on the Wreaths Program and how it honors all veterans. After the playing of the National Anthem those in attendance then recited the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a short speech given by Marietta Miller-Meeks followed by the playing of Taps. Various guests including myself were asked to address those present with our thoughts and feelings on the importance of the remembrance of all veterans of all wars.
My wife was unable to attend the ceremony thus I have no pictures of the ceremony itself, however one of the local veterans presented me with two of the wreaths to take home. Upon arriving at home we took the wreaths and placed one on her fathers grave and one on my fathers grave, both being veterans. The pictures submitted are my wife and myself placing the wreaths.
